THE MUSE: Drawing inspiration from the breathtaking Banff Mountains and the enduring elegance of the existing Scottish Baronial Architecture of Fairmont Banff Springs, the design is a fusion of rich hues and lush textures. Intricate details like stitches and cozy textures such as tweed and plush velvets converge to create a space that seamlessly blends refinement with ruggedness, exuding both warmth and stately charm.
THE MAGIC: It's all about the mix. Warm bronze, deep blues, and greens, combined with solid stone table bases and minimal window coverings, weave together an eclectic array of materials inspired by the natural hues of the mountains.
THE MAVERICK MOVE: Displaying weaving patterns through a captivating micro-macro juxtaposition, our design features large woven strips of leather alongside delicate and detailed stitching. The result is an embrace that feels both majestic and authentically crafted.

THE MAGIC: Inspired by the artistry of rattan, the patterns throughout echo the indigenous and ancient handcrafted designs, while materials draw inspiration from the structural elegance of bamboo. As you traverse the space, open weaves and filtered lights interplay, creating a transformative journey. Step by step, light and shadow dance in intricate illusions, captivating the mind and inviting relaxation in the enchantment of the surroundings.
THE MAVERICK MOVE: At the heart of attention, the lobby takes center stage featuring a captivating wall art installation, a commission by local artists that establishes a genuine connection to the community. Drawing inspiration from the cascading waterfalls and oceanfront vistas of the region, hand-formed clay fish gracefully traverse the expansive resin glass. Infused with crushed fragments of sparkling sand and reflective mirrors, this distinctive composition imbues the space with a unique and evocative ambiance.

THE MUSE: Drawing inspiration from the geological forces that shape islands and the essence of these natural processes, Tesoro infuses a sense of ever-changing energy, vibrant movement, and the raw, elemental beauty that define island formations.
THE MAGIC: Layers upon layers unfurl—a choreography of draped folds, puckered fabrics mingling with textured leathers, set against the backdrop of rough, chiseled stones. The shapes create a ripple pattern, drawing inspiration from the perpetual rhythm of the ceaseless crashing waves.
THE MAVERICK MOVE: Capturing the dynamic choreography of shifting tectonic plates and the intense fervor of molten lava, the dining room's focal point is a statement ceiling adorned with jagged, ribbed wood pieces intricately layered. Molten glass pendants delicately cascade beyond the edges, evoking the dramatic spectacle of dripping lava. The ambiance is a harmonious interplay, drawing from the mesmerizing dance of steam as hot lava meets the cool embrace of water.

THE MUSE: Influenced by the hotel's surroundings, the interior space evokes the spirit of picnics, flora, and outdoor enjoyment—a subtle homage to the gatherings of family and friends in the adjacent Lincoln Park. With the inclusion of indoor trees, plaid patterns, and nature-inspired hues, Lytle Park Hotel pays tribute to its origins while seamlessly blending the boundaries between indoor and outdoor environments.
THE MAGIC: Situated at the heart of the lobby and neighboring the reception desk, a radial seating arrangement establishes a delightful picnic ambiance. Towering trees frame both sides of a generously tufted sofa, artfully mirroring the patterns reminiscent of a classic picnic bench.
THE MAVERICK MOVE: In a lobby bar constrained by its historical setting, boundaries are shattered as a bold and expansive light fixture commands the attention and awe of guests. Brass stems, suspended at varying heights and adorned with cascading clear glass, create the illusion of suspension from the existing domed skylight. The fixture artfully captures the essence of water sprinkling through the tree canopy on a rainy day in the park. Contrasted by polished brass and a structured radial pattern, the light fixture achieves a captivating balance, seamlessly blending charm and glamour with organic and refined elements.

THE MUSE: Hospitals needn't evoke fear but rather embody spaces of healing. In the UCSF radiology department, we've crafted an environment synonymous with ease. Drawing inspiration from the city's enveloping fog, the design incorporates a recurring motif of horizontal flowing lines. Illuminated by gentle lights and adorned with warm woods and gradient blues, the space emanates serenity and tranquility, fostering a comforting atmosphere for both healthcare professionals and patients.
THE MAGIC: The gradient blue panels backlit at waiting areas and reception desks create a moment of disruption for the patients’ worries. The vibrant blue cascading into a soft blue is both bold and calming and helps direct patients to meander through the space without feeling lost and confused.
THE MAVERICK MOVE: Deviating from the conventional image of sterile and impersonal hospitals, our design welcomes patients into a transformative space. As patients enter, they are greeted by a warm ambiance, guided by a wood slat ceiling and travertine-look porcelain flooring. The waiting area, adorned with frosted glass interwoven with creamy fabric strips, filters light to create a gentle and inviting glow, offering a departure from the traditional clinical atmosphere.

THE MUSE: Lewellyn, the cherished grandmother behind the renowned fried chicken recipe that nourished not only her own family but also neighbors during her husband's wartime absence, serves as the foundation for this story. Yet, who was Lewellyn in her youth? A diligent chef, devoted wife, nurturing mother, and a formidable woman. A spring chicken bursting with love and culinary prowess, she embodied boldness, innovation, and a rebellious spirit. 'Spring Chicken' pays homage to the essence of Lewellyn, celebrating her legacy of warmth, creativity, and resilience.
THE MAGIC: Infusing a schoolhouse funky vibe, primary colors take center stage in a dynamic and captivating manner, crafting a space that feels both familiar and uniquely unconventional. An eye-catching feature, a sizable rusted windmill suspended from the ceiling, serves as a dynamic focal point, sparking conversation in the lively setting of the fast-casual dining area.
THE MAVERICK MOVE: A collection of well-worn and aged recipe books scatter a wall, each opened to different pages revealing handwritten measurements—a glimpse into the life of Lewellyn. This entry wall not only captures a photographable moment but also evokes a unique blend of familiarity and novelty. It's an experience that invites a mix of nostalgia and the discovery of secret connections, allowing visitors to feel a sense of connection to Lewellyn's personal culinary world.

Tesoro restaurant is located in the Marco Island Marriott Resort. The concept inspired by the Lanai is captured with the ongoing waves crashing into the lava found in the islands.
THE MUSE: Influenced by the sailing community, the Newport Marriott Hotel exudes a lively ambiance with playful nautical themes, balanced by a touch of sophistication and refinement. The space incorporates elements like ropes, sailcloth, salvaged wood, and water features seamlessly blended with impressive stones, a neutral color palette, and polished brass accents.
THE MAGIC: In contrast to the lively atmosphere of the shared spaces, the guestroom is intentionally crafted to be a tranquil and private haven. Inspired by the calmness of the sea, it aims to evoke a serene nautical ambiance. Instead of traditional artwork, a taut sail, softly illuminated from behind, spans the entirety of the teak deck headboard, creating a soothing visual that extends across the headboard wall. When all other lights are dimmed, leaving only the sail softly aglow, the room conjures a primal emotion, reminiscent of the first light breaking on a tranquil horizon.
THE MAVERICK MOVE: A feature seating area enveloped by a circular arrangement of floor-to-ceiling ropes, creates an intimate space around a bubbling water feature. Suspended from the ceiling are chairs with sail-stretched fabric, inviting guests to gently sway as if drifting on water, simulating the tranquil movement of a boat.

THE MUSE: Amara Cay is a tropical sanctuary bathed in harmonious tones, featuring whimsical furniture and fixtures that add a touch of visual delight. As you approach the reception desk, a feature wall catches the eye, adorned with brass nails and cotton strings carefully threaded to create signage. This unique installation sets the tone for an engaging and lighthearted experience throughout.
THE MAGIC: Incorporating polished yet natural elements, such as stripped cedar trunks beside a glass wall and site-collected palm fronds in brass vases, gives rise to a playful atmosphere that dances with interplays of light and shadow, seamlessly blending the rustic with the polished.
THE MAVERICK MOVE: The dining area, made up of natural materials, textures, and neutral tones, is divided by a hand crafted and woven together screen made of wood branches. The pops of color are found through tropical hues, plants, and artwork.
